I have been where you are.
There was a time in my life where I didn’t feel safe at home and I didn’t know if my marriage would survive.
As a mom, I’ve experienced a season in my life of heart-wrenching despair watching my child battle drug addiction.
The loss of a grandchild brought me excruciating grief. I was surprised by the intense grief I experienced not only by my loss but also watching my son grieve.
Leviticus 6:13 NIV is my life verse that I aim to live by: “The fire on the altar must be kept burning continuously; it must not go out.”

BALM® Family Recovery
BALM® is an acronym for Be A Loving Mirror. Being a Loving Mirror means learning to love yourself and your loved one with a substance use disorder in a way that promotes healthy relationships with the aim of lasting recovery for yourself as a family member and potentially for your struggling loved one as well.
The Founder and Director of the program, Beverly A. Buncher, says in her book BALM The Loving Path to Family Recovery “Love is what brings about change, first in yourself, and then potentially in another person. It’s love that works – not harshness, not toughness, not unkindness, not disconnection. It’s always connection and love.”
